Important Dates for Claims

  • Date of Injury (DOI)--This is the date of your accident or the date your doctor told you your condition was the result of work activities. 
  • Date to Report Injury--Accidents should be reported immediately but not later than 90 days after the accident.
  • Date to Report Occupational Diseases--One year from the date of discovery of the condition or having been told by a doctor of the condition.
  • Date to Accepted or Deny a Claim--The insurance company has 60 days to accept or deny a claim.
  • Date to Pay Time loss--Once time loss is authorized and the waiting period has been met, time loss is to be paid every 14 days.
  • Date to Request a Hearing--Hearings on a Denial of a Claim are to be made within 60 days of the mailing of the Denial.
  • Date to Challenge Closure or Award of Disability-- Requests must be filed within 60 days of the Date of the Closure
